One of the best stages of the world’s biggest races.
With the dark coming on fast each afternoon and the temperatures dipping low even at midday, it takes a lot to get out and ride whenever there’s time. It’s even hard to slump down to your trainer, throw your leg over your stopped-up bike and put in a few miles in while going nowhere. That’s why the site is going to be offering up some great footage to urge you out the door, or something to stare at while sitting on the trainer.
And who could forget the tenacity of the Canadian at this year’s Giro? Former mountain biker Ryder Hesjedal surprised everyone except himself with a gutsy ride alongside some of the best climbers in the world. On the steep ascent to the Val di Fiemme, Hesjedal rode with Michele Scarponi to take the maglia rosa from Joaquim Rodriquez. It’s also notable that the very, very Czech Roman Kreuziger came back fighting after losing over ten minutes on Stage 18 to win the stage decisively and save his Giro. Způsob, jak jít, Roman!
