Gentlemen’s Club Challenge: The Classics Challenge

classics-challenge-v3

The first Gentlemen’s Club challenge of the year starts April 1.

The Spring Classics are a special time of year. In cycling-mad Belgium, the Classics season is considered a Holy Week, with a number of semi-Classics queued up before the two big cobbles races, the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix.

This challenge also includes the accumulative distances of Milan-San Remo, nabbed by Gerald Ciolek, and two of the Ardennes Triple Crown events, Liege-Bastogne-Liege and Amstel Gold. The total distance of these races adds up to 1,319 kilometers. That’s 820 miles, or 204 miles per week. You’ll have all of April to rack up the miles.

The Gentlemen’s Club member with the most miles will win the ultimate prize: recognition on a small, regionally-focus website. WOW!

In addition to the Lowell 50, kolo t.c will also be hosting a Sunday ride on April 14th with the goal of knocking down 75 miles, half of the miles needed in a week, in a single day. But that’s too easy. We will also hit 5,000 feet of climbing on the route. The ride will leave Darrow Park at 10am, rain or shine.

Make your Strava account and join up with the Club. You must be in the Club to compete.
