Four-stage Grand Tour and World Championship to close out Speed of Light Calendar this fall.

Einstein Cycles and kolo t.c. have revealed the Vuelta and World Championship dates heading into a busy fall campaign for racers looking for the ultimate glory. At a glitzy gala in Zurich, pros from around the globe gathered in top and tails to see the schedule and route for the much-anticipated Vuelta.

The final Grand Tour Competition will begin August 29, just four days after the X100 race at Ranch Rudolf in Traverse City, Michigan. For four straight weeks, the GC men will battle for the red jersey over the hardening and quickening veins of the VASA 25km loop. The race should see a return of favorites like Ty Schmidt, Craig Webb and the Kushman Brothers as all of the big mountain bikers prepared for a packed fall race season.

The announcement of a World Championship, too, should attract the interest of Ryan Kennedy, Jorden Wakeley and the other fast men, and will take place September 26. The one-day battle for the rainbow jersey is going to be perfectly timed to go for a world record as well, with the sandy trails usually starting to harden up by mid-September. The event should pit Kennedy against Wakeley, teammates Ty Schmidt and Chris Kushman, with Craig Webb a solid pick as well. The World Champion will have the honor of bearing the title for one full season until the next WC in 2014.
