The Farmer and the man who we might assume is a 1994 Olympic gold medalist sit tied after two races.
The Fat Bike GRR Series is underway and through two races, it looks as though a pair of riders will contest the overall title. Nate Versluis and Dan Jansen, who may or may not have won a gold medal in the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, are tied with 7 points. Versluis won the first race and placed second last weekend, with Jansen trading podium places at both spots.
There are still plenty of opportunities for riders like Steve Bartzen and Scott Chambers to jump up and take some points, though Versluis and Jansen, who, again, might be that guy who fell over, look really tough to beat. Janaury 5’s Wahlfield Park race might be just the opportunity.
On the women’s side, Danielle Musto is looking solid. She and second placed rider Jill Martindale (yes, that Jill Martindale) will skip Wahlfield Park as they head up to Fat Chance! to contest the Great Lakes Fat Bike Series and Northern Michigan Fat Bike Series. Two birds, one really big trip. Musto is the big favorite to take the Winter Rush series, but will need to recover smart after a January filled with big tests.
Stay tuned for fat biking race recaps at some point.
