Put this on your calendar. Tell your Siri to remind you when it is happening. Which is February 22 from 2-5. Do it for the kids.
This weekend, put on your party pants and join Jolly Pumpkin and Einstein Cycles in raising money for the Traverse City area’s youth cycling program. The event will take in donations to help fund Hagety-Thompson O’Neil Law U-25 and El Grupo Norte’s 2014 youth programs.
The event will feature $2 brews, live music from the Brad Winkler Project, and Wahoo Kickr competitions. Everyone who is man or woman enough will get a chance to take on a Strava segment, with the overall winner getting a grand prize. No spandex or SPDs, so maybe skip the EPO cycling and just have fun, eh guys?
El Grupo Norte is entering its first full season in 2014, with a focus on elementary aged-kids with an interest in biking. Whether it is racing or just having fun, the group is excited to offer a great environment to ride bikes, have fun, and probably eat pie or ice cream or both at regular intervals.
Hagerty-Thompson O’Neil Law has grown in the past three years into a great development team in Traverse City. It now has over a dozen riders aged 11 to 23, promoting racing and training for racers looking to improve as cyclists.
Suggested donation is $10, but really, if you’ve got more, that would be great, too.
