Tom first showed up on the kolo radar while taking classes at Yen Yoga & Fitness. He was always showing up to class a little early to make sure he got in a little extra work, and he always pushed until the very end of class.
That’s the kind of work ethic that we’re all about.
He and his wife, Laura, were quick to sign up for all the fundraisers we put on, and he also was a hit with his riding buddies on the trail, “The Old Boys Ride.” (His words!)
We’re really pumped to have Tom back on the squad for 2020. He’s currently in Florida, aka, retirement training camp and should make his return to northern Michigan faster and stronger than ever.
Stoked to have you, Tom!
WHY ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT RIDING FOR KOLO TC?
Love you guys. I have been a fan of all things KOLO and what you stand for for a long time. Always proud to represent the team and what it means for TC cycling.
WHAT/WHO GOT YOU INTO CYCLING?
I’ve always loved the quiet freedom of riding. I started riding years ago to stay in some kind of shape, but it really became my way to relieve stress.
WHAT EVENTS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2020? WHY?
Mud Sweat and Beers because it is a smaller race and gives me a goal for the Winter. Ore 2Shore is my favorite race. Marquette is beautiful and the last 8 miles are pretty much down hill. I hope to volunteer at the Iceman this year. The last two times have been both mud years and I would rather ride a sunny out and back and represent as a helper on race day.
WHAT’S ONE COOL THING ABOUT YOU THAT’S NOT BIKE RELATED?
Just one? My kids think I’m funny.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BEER?
Labatts (non alcohol) because I don’t know when to say when.
Be sure to follow Tom’s sunny rides in Florida on Strava.
