Carter DeBruyn Joins the kolo t.c. Crew for 2022

The kolo t.c. team just got decidedly faster. We’re thrilled to have TC phenom Carter DeBruyn join our very loose confederation of riders for the 2022 racing season.

A high school junior, Carter is a lifelong product of the Norte Youth Cycling system. Due to a large number of Norte kids on the Varsity team graduating this spring (just typing that makes feel old), the Norte program doesn’t have enough riders to field a Varsity team this year.

We know that riding with kolo isn’t nearly as cool as the Norte Varsity team, but we wanted to make sure Carter still had the opportunity to ride with riders at his ability level. More importantly, we want to make sure Carter, and other high school riders, feel like they still have a place in the cycling community. The Norte team is working hard to cultivate the next crop of Norte Varsity riders; stay tuned. There will be plenty of very fast kids in orange passing us in the woods all summer long.

Carter will be making his debut in kolo t.c. colors at Saturday’s Mud, Sweat, and Beers. Check out the race preview here.

On behalf of our entire little kolo club, welcome to the team, Carter! We can’t wait to watch you shred this summer!

If you’re a high schooler who would like to join kolo on our weekly rides, please get in touch. We’ll make sure you’re aware of our group rides all summer long. You don’t have to wear a kolo jersey to join in on the fun – all riders from any team or club are welcome to join in.
