Alexey Vermeulen and Erin Omara captured the inaugural Belgian Waffle Ride Michigan titles in the grueling 135 mile distance.
Racers had absolutely perfect conditions for racing, with temperatures just under 50 degrees (American) and hardly a stitch of wind until late afternoon. After a neutral roll out from Mt. Holiday, hostilies rang out on the Vasa Pathway and Singletrack until the race hit the gravel roads proper.

There was plenty of stellar racing throughout the categories, although dozens of riders did get lost. Chalk that up to Year One troubles; that will be dialed in 2023 if BWR comes back!
