The third race in the Short’s Brewing Fat Bike Series saw John Burmeister move from fourth place at Vasa to the top step at Mt. McSauba.
The penultimate race of the 2023 Short’s Brewing Fat Bike Series saw a small but strong field toe the line below the slopes of the ski hill. Series leaders Jorden Wakeley and Heather Compton had other priorities this weekend; they weren’t the only riders norther of the bridge for Polar Roll.
Dog Man Challenge – Men’s Results
That shouldn’t take away any of the satisfaction for John Burmeister, who held off Peter Valler to take the win. Burmeister led home a slew of DIRTy Mitten Racing League regulars in the top five.
Third across the line and first in Master’s, Eric Langley is staying within touch of Paul Olson for the Series win ahead of next weekend’s Fatty Caddy. Jim Jackovatz and Spencer Mendel, two more Mitten riders, bagged a nice load of points by following Langely to the line for second and third in Master’s.
Dog Man Challenge – Women’s Result
Anabel Miller bags her first win of the season and picked up a vital haul of points in her push for a Series podium. Not too far behind, Nina Waeschenfelder and Staci Laurencelle filled out the podium. They’re looking good for the overall, but it may come down to how many women sign up and race next weekend.
