2012 Peak2Peak Video

Once again, we thank the wonderful folks at Short’s for the kolo kam.

For a few months now, the kolo kam has been bringing you outstanding footage from some of Michigan’s biggest bike races. From Boyne to Peak2Peak, we’ve got some great videos of races in all sorts of conditions from a ton of talented riders. For Saturday, Yours Truly brought the wrong bracket and couldn’t get the kam on Nate St. Onge or Mike Anderson as a result. Luckily, it fit on the Official Bike of kolo t.c. and some useful, muddy footage was the result.

The footage you’re about to see is graphic in nature. The mud rendered a lot of the video useless, and these two clips are the clearest available, though more work will be done to find a few clips with the trail and other riders actually visible. This includes the miles leading up to the Crystal Climb on the first lap, following the wheel of Hagerty teammate Mike Okma. The second portion is a lonely slog up and out of the Betsie River Valley heading back toward the mountain.

It really was a wild and tough day, and you can be assured of a state-wide brake pad shortage.
