The Cookie Ride

For more than 25 years (probably), Traverse City has kicked off July with The Pancake Ride. Since 2020, the Pancake Ride is now The Cookie Ride!

This fun summer classic benefits the Great Lakes Humane Society.

The Cooke Ride Game Plan

July 2, 2023. 8:00 am. Brick Wheels.

The Ride

The ride has been essentially unchanged for more than a decade, taking in 60 miles of pristine roads in Leelanau County. The ride starts and finishes at Brick Wheels. The group rides together until it crosses Fouch and then, the pace picks up!

Bring your climbing legs, because you’re going to every chocolate chip by the ride’s end. The last half of the route includes famous Leelanau County climbs like Trumbull, Hlavka, Darga, and Tower before the long steady drag race up Philosophy. It’s a ride that brings people from around the state back every summer just so they can test their fitness and enjoy the camaraderie!

We will not be stopping in Glen Arbor this year.

You can see the full route and RSVP for the ride here.

Great Lakes Humane Society

Riders are encouraged (but in no way obligated) to make a donation to Great Lakes Humane Society. Linda and her incredible team of volunteers rescue dogs from around the country from kill shelters and give them happy, loving homes in Northern Michigan.

Linda and a few of her friends (dogs, she’s bringing dogs) will be at Brick Wheels Saturday, July 2 from 10-noon to say hello! Even if you can’t make the ride, stop by and see GLHS pups under the tent at Brick and consider donating to the cause.
