2012 Michigan Cyclist of the Year Finalists

kolo t.c. is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2012 Michigan Cyclists of the Year.

With a Men’s and Women’s title to give out, the line-up is a veritable who’s-who of who rocks the Mitten. The winner will be announced tomorrow at 5am, with all the appropriate fanfare, hoopla, and applause. The newly crowned royalty with receive absolutely nothing for their efforts, but obviously a title like this is sure to carry some weight in contract negotiations.

It was a tough selection process, combining totals from nominations, results, Top Banana Points and other important criteria, with a special emphasis on winning when it counts, but winning all year long. The model was Bradley Wiggins, who won this year from March ’till July, and then repaid the favor at the Olympics and into the fall.

With only 24 hours more ado, here are the finalists:

Men’s

Mike Anderson, BISSELL

Jorden Wakeley, Einstein Racing

Derek Graham, BISSELL

John Cowan, North Country Cycle Sport

Dan Korienek, Leadout Racing

Women’s

Amy Stauffer, Priority Health

Mackenzie Woodring, Einstein Racing

Susan Vigland, Hagerty Cycling

Johanna Schmidt, Einstein Racing

Abby Martin, Miller Energy-GR Bicycle Co.

After tomorrow’s post, kolo t.c. will be taking a well-deserved one week hiatus to rework the site, update logos and information, and to just generally retool the world’s most average bike website ever.

Remember to not forget to check back tomorrow for the overly dramatic revelation of the 2012 Michigan Cyclist of the Year!
