Father Fred Foundation FUNdraiser: Super Stationary // Super Fun!

IMG_3245

On Sunday, 28 spandex-clad heroes descended on Yen Yoga & Fitness for a free indoor cycling class. Before we got started, we  were like, “Hey, we’re looking for some donations for the Father Fred Foundation, can you chip in a few bucks?” It turns out, your parents were right. All you really have to do is ask nicely. We raised over $1,000 for Father Fred in just one class – and we didn’t even have to go anywhere! Doing something for a good cause has never been so stationary.

We were really lucky to have Elaine Keaton, who is the Donor Coordinator & Communications Coordinator for Father Fred, join us for class and take a few minutes to tell us more about the Foundation, its work, and its mission before we got down to business. Once class commenced in earnest, Dan Ellis immediately put the power down while riding in the front row, while Wes led the class through some intervals to the tune of The Kinks, Natural Child, and Bruce Springsteen to name a few of the artists.

After an excellent workout, we completely undid all of that hard work by gorging on cookies provided by kolo sponsor and all-around good human being, Breanne Fortuna from Breakaway Cafe & Coffee Bar.

To everyone who attended – thank you! In true Yen style, we had people make donations to Father Fred online even if they didn’t make it to class. Thank you, Yen Yoga & Fitness, for letting us use your awesome facilities to help out our friends and neighbors in need.

The next fundraiser will take place in about six weeks. Stay tuned for more details soon. Thank you, everyone, for helping make this cool event possible!
