Melissa Ryba is one of the coolest people I know. She’s been in the cycling game for more than a few years now, and brings plenty of experience to the team. Road, mountain, gravel; as long as she has two wheels, she’ll ride anywhere, any time.
Know what else is cool about Melissa? Her inspiring work at Child & Family Services. Her marketing skills help tell the world about the incredibly important work CFS does for underserved youth in our region, and we’re so happy to have such a selfless person representing us on the roads and trails.
If you want to meet Melissa in-person, be sure to join us on March 22 at Yen Yoga & Fitness for a donation-based indoor cycling class to benefit Child & Family Services. Call Yen’s front desk to save your bike! 231.421.5496
World, meet Melissa!
WHY ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT RIDING FOR KOLO TC?
Great group of people! Like to ride for the fun of it and enjoy our beautiful area.
WHAT/WHO GOT YOU INTO CYCLING?
I started mountain biking one summer when I worked on Mackinac Island at a bike rental. Being on a bike in the woods felt amazing.
WHAT EVENTS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2020? WHY?
The Cherry Roubaix or other fondos. Maybe a few gravel rides.
WHAT’S ONE COOL THING ABOUT YOU THAT’S NOT BIKE RELATED?
I met Maya Angelou my senior year of college. She came when our Social Work Association invited her to speak and I got to introduce her and meet her back stage. I was so nervous and in awe. Very starstruck.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BEER?
Lately Truly. Beer not doing me any favors lately.
Be sure to try to keep up with Melissa on Instagram and Strava. (If you can. She’s pretty quick.)
