A small, cordial ride through the woods saw Porter Kochis take his first SOL win and sets the stage for Ladies Night next week!
Someone should have taught this kid not to play with his food. From the very start, Porter Kochis had the night wrapped up, dropping his only challenger at will and ultimately choosing when and where to move clear.
It was a quiet night, with many a rider taking a night off ahead of the Chicken Leg 100 – or 200, if you’re as crazy as Steffan Howard and Ed Rogers. John O’Hearn opted for an “easy” SOL, giving him a front row seat to the Sarah Black vs. Erica O’Hearn slugfest. The pair were inseparable for 11.6 miles, with Erica taking the top spot. It’s an excellent preview heading into next week’s Ladies Night.
Allyson Klug will (hopefully) be back for it, and she was also the only person to ride a fat bike; but what do you expect, that’s kind of her thing, man.
Porter’s win shifts him up the WorldTour standings, though Cody “Can Only Win Competitions He Makes Up” Sovis has moved into the lead thanks to perfect attendance and double-points on Drop Bar night.
Ladies get double points next week, then we’re off for Fourth of July. On the other side, it’s the Tour Competition, and we’ve got some BIG news heading into that!
